How to Recover VET Tokens Sent to an Ethereum Address

Modified on Fri, 26 Jul at 9:23 AM

This guide will show you how to recover VET sent to an Ethereum address.

To send and receive VET, VTHO, or any other coins on the VeChain network, you must use the VeChain blockchain. Ensure you transfer these coins to a wallet that supports the VeChain network.

If you mistakenly sent VET tokens to an Ethereum wallet, your coins will not arrive. Please follow this guide to regain access to your tokens.

Please use these instructions at your own risk. If anything goes wrong, you may permanently lose your coins.

Be very careful with your 12-word secret recovery phrase and private keys, as they control access to your funds. Never share them with anyone and only import them into platforms you trust. If you choose to import your 12-word phrase or private keys into a third-party platform, you do so at your own risk.

Step 1: Verify that you sent your tokens with the VechainThor network

Double-check that you've sent your VET tokens using the VeChainThor network. To do this, use VeChainStats. Copy the address to which you sent your VET, paste it into the search box on the VeChainStats website, and then hit Enter.

If your tokens are on the VeChainThor network, then both the token and the transaction should be visible.

Step 2: Import your wallet with your seed phrase

Open VeWorld on your mobile device and follow these steps:

  1. Select the wallet icon in the top corner on mobile.
  2. Select Add Wallet and then Local Wallet.
  3. Enter the 12 words of your seed phrase that belongs to your Ethereum address.
  4. Underneath the box for the seed phrase, select Derivation Path.
  5. Select the option: Derivation Path for Ethereum.
  6. Select Verify at the bottom.

That's it! You have imported your Ethereum wallet address onto the VeChainThor network. You should now see your tokens in your wallet.
